As we had mentioned over the weekend, there was fear that the mother of Angelina Jolie's newly adopted Vietnamese son Pax Thein might take the child back because she is reportedly a money-hungry heroin addict who never signed the papers to give up her son!
Nguyen Van Trung, the director of the Tam Binh Orphanage says otherwise. Even if the claims of his mother turn up to be true, it is nearly impossible for Pax’s mother to take back her child. What happened is that when the child first arrived to the orphanage, they tried to find his relatives through newspaper ads, but since there was no answer within 30 days, Pax was legally considered an orphan.
"Not mentioning that Sang’s mother didn’t claim her baby when the orphanage advertised in newspapers, the fact that she abandoned her child is enough to hold her accountable before laws, let alone demand her child back!” Trung told a Vietnamese newspaper.
The director also added that after Angelina signed the paper with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Justice, Pax officially became her child.
"If, in the future, Sang's biological mother comes to the orphanage, we will only provide her with such information as that Sang has been adopted, and where and how he lives," the orphanage director said. "As for demanding Sang back, it is absolutely impossible."
Basically, this kid is going no where!
