Jolie Was Scared to be a Mom

Actress and humanitarian Angelina Jolie may seem fearless to us now but she says she was terrified of first becoming a mother, because she was scared she wouldn't be good at it.

She says, "They put him (Maddox) in my arms and I stared at him and I started crying and he smiled. I hadn't held children before in my life. I was always considered so dark and I thought maybe I shouldn't be someone's mom because I'm not so sure about myself - am I going to be the best mom?

"The fact that this little kid seemed so at ease gave me the courage to feel I could make him happy and so we became a family."

Jolie is now a mother of four and I think she makes an amazing mother. What do you think? Do you think she makes a good mum?

my problem with angelina is the way she treats shiloh. i think it's wonderful to adopt but the whole point is to make everyone feel like they are a family. she leaves shiloh out and takes the rest with her at all times. babies need love in order to belong. if she doesn't want that adorable little girl then give her to me. i don't have a lot of money but would love her and give her the attention she's entitled to. brad is a weak man not to stand up to her.it's his little girl to.

Chrissy, Chrissy, Chrissy... You are convincing no one here that poor little Angelina is as pure as the driven snow OR that you are in anyway involved in PR in LA or anywhere else for that matter. Your statements clearly demonstrate a naivety that simply could not exist and would not survive in LA PR. Valiant attempt but futile nonetheless. Angelina and Brad DID sell the Shiloh photos....and they did donate a PORTION to charity.... NOW here is the the important part; the charitable institution was the "Jolie-Pitt Foundation" This is public information. It is EASILY verifiable. You should have done your research before stepping into this arena posing as something you are not.... who knows, next you will be telling us that YOU are Angelina Jolie.... oh wait, with this false and unconvincing portrayal.... maybe you are......

There are not 5 nannies. LOL. ALL celebs and wealthy people have nannies and most of them have a nanny for each child. It's "normal" for wealthy active people (celeb or not) to make sure each child has their needs met 24/7. More importantly, it's a security concern as well. A HUGE concern for all wealthy parents is security. They are public figures and as such, NEED to take that extra security measure. Pick up the phone, call the National Enquirer and ask them what they will pay you for a photo of Shiloh compared to a photo of Maddox or Suri or Kingston. You will learn for yourself a price for Shiloh is nearly triple the amount. Now imagine a paparazzi photographer knowing this what lengths he will go to for a shot of Shiloh. Perhaps get out of your world of judgment and try to see what it would be like in their shoes for just a moment... fame, career, parents, activist, being stalked, followed and so forth. See how long you can handle such extreme pressure. Furthermore, the kids are in an INTERNATIONAL school in which 1/3 of the students travel.

All the negative postings about AJ... wow. I'm not an AJ fan but I will say this, I've worked in LA in PR for 20 years and I will say from ACTUAL experience, neither Brad nor AJ seek out publicity like Lohan and Hilton. They are STALKED by the paparazzi. Furthermore, re: the baby photos of Shiloh sold, ALL money went to charity specifically designed to dispense funds to orhanages. Brad and AJ knew well enough that a media frenzy would occur and to curb their thirst, they did what ALL celebs do. (ie. Douglas/Zeta Jones wedding photo sold for 1 million) This is the way of press and media. The event they support put out a news wire thru the press NOT the artist. It's the public's obsession (both love & hate) that fuels the paparazzi's desire to stalk them... bottomline, it sells. At least if you intend to attack them, have the knowledge and experience to know what you are talking about.

From the minute she sold pics of Shiloh I lost all respect for her. I know lots of celebs did it before her, but, it totally turned me off her. I believed she had an affair with a married man. Got pregnant to keep him from returning to his wife, and went on a publicity tour-baby watch in Namibia, to make herself acceptable because she had an affair with another womans' husband. Selling her childrens' pic- Germany and UK magazine covers, and also people magazine was a true testament to her character. I think she was ashamed of herself. She did what her father did-an affair. She then set about to recreate like a movie what actually happened. She has used all of her children for publicity. She put their pics out there for money. I have no sympathy for her. I find her extremely shollow. Nothing she says about refugees matters to me. She is a phony.

Oh but she IS pulling a Britney. She has been all along. The difference being that Angelina is well known for her disturbing and disgusting behavior. She never was and never will be America little darling. She has always been a self admitted drug abuser. Britney was at one time revered as all American as ivory soap therefore her fall into the ghetto is much more notable than Angelina who permanently reigns the ghetto. Although I find Britney to be a disaster, I do believe she may not know how or be mature enough to value her children. I don't get the feeling she had them to attain media attention....maybe to trap a man but Angelina Jolie collects those children to present a faux image of goodness while attempting to tie Brad in even tighter. Angelina is a disgusting mess.

Yes, I'm sure her army of nannies would attest that she is a great mother. And after all, great parents give their children very stable homes when they are on the road constantly. Nothing is better for children than the constant flash of the paparazzi's cameras in their faces. This world is screwed.

I think one of the things that makes a good mother, and it doesn't take much, is keep their lives structured and settled. Which Angie nor Brad do. They are switched 2 different schools, day cares, countries every other month. They need consistancy in their lives and their consistancy is moving from place to place, country to country constantly. They have no stability aside from money in their lives.

I think it's a little disturbing that she referred to herself as "dark" and that is why she didn't think she'd make a good mother. I need to ask, what happened to that "darkness"? Was it miraculously replaced by love the moment she held a child? I think she is still "dark" - maybe she's softer now but you can't change your core just by adopting some kids. Mother of the year is questionable. Plus there are many couples who adopt children everyday, why is this woman praised for doing it? She has the financial means to take care of many homeless children but in reality why doesn't she just take a chunk of that change and give it to these countries so that the parents wouldn't have to abandon their children in orphanages (b/c they have no money to feed them)?

i used to HATE angelina cuz of the brad/jennifer thing cuz i loved jennifer as rachel in friends but now i somehow and suprisngly kind of stopped caring since i heard jennifer didn't want to do the reunion of friends and probably it was that brad wanted to have kids sooo bad and jennifer didn't that drove him away cuz he can't wait 4ever to hope one day she'll change her mind but anyways im still not an angelina fan but i dont hate her anymore and i actually think she actually cares for the kids she adopted also at least she isn't acting all crazy like britney and they both have kids angelina actually seems more mature and controlled

Let there be no misunderstanding....collecting children for publicity and having a staff of nannies to raise them (unless needed for a photo-op) does not a mother make. Nervous about being a mother? rightfully so. She is unfit as a mother because her interest in them is not born out of love but out selfish desire to gain media attention. Dark? That is putting it mildly. Angelina Jolie is NOT a mother and any assertion that is she is one greatly insults the TRUE Mom's who are actively raising their children out of love instead of using them as a trophy for the paparazzi to turn attention to.
