Jolie Speaks On Behalf of Iraqi Child Refugees

Supermom Angelina Jolie was in Washington D.C. on Tuesday afternoon talking about the importance of education for Iraqi child refugees. Speaking to the Council on Foreign Relations, Jolie said:

"It is a fact that the best way to heal children in conflict and their trauma is to focus their minds on their future," she told the crowd.

"This population we're talking about is the future of Iraq," she added. "So to reach them now, to help deal with their trauma and refocus their minds on a possible future should absolutely be one of our top priorities.

"We need these kids ... to rebuild their country, to stabilize their country and eventually lead their country."

It wasn't all work and no play for Jolie though, after her moving speech she took her sons to the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. Is there anything this woman can't do?

Thanks "K"!! I've read your posts and agree with you too!! Brad must be kicking himself everyday. Thinking, "what have I done?" I let Jen go for this? Too bad Brad, you put trash in your bed, now you have to sleep with it. PEEEE EEEEEEW !!!

Gretchen, I read your post and thought , "this person is on target", then I realized it was you. Of course it didn't surprise me. You hit the nail on the head. I've been trying to emphasize that same point forever.... that she isn't a REAL mom! I can't imagine her doing the job of a homemaker, caretaker, and working woman all at the same time (EVERYDAY). It must be wonderful to be able to save the world while your nannies make breakfast,lunch and dinner for the kids, plus do the laundry and clean the house. It's pathetic that the media turn a blind eye to the truth about these celebrities. But I guess the "average joe" can't be fooled. Jolie flies around the world preaching about poverty, education, and the underpriviledged....but has an army of slaves at home raising her kids. Good pick Brad!

Did they just call her a "Supermom"? Are you kidding me? Just because you collect kids doesn't make you a "Supermom". If she cleaned her own house, made 3 meals a day for the entire family everyday, changed all the diapers,did all of the laundry, did all the carpooling,did all the grocery shopping and worked 40 plus hours a week, ect.. ect..( I could keep going) then maybe I could give her some credit, but she has a team of Nannies, cooks, drivers and housecleaners. she's not "Supermom". She's barely a Mom. Her team of servants are the ones doing all the real work. All she does is the fun stuff with the kids. Wouldn't all of us "real moms" love to be able to do that? Also, she speaks about how important education is to the Iraqi children, I will say it again Angie. Charity begins at home. I have NO problem with helping children around the world, as long she's helped kids at home first. Schools are closing left and right around us because we don't have enough $$$ to keep them open and pay teachers. Doesn't she think "OUR" kids are just as important as the Iraqi or African kids? I don't know why she was EVER given the right to speak for our Country on these issues. She's JUST and actress, and not a very good one at that. Shut up Angie!!

Angelina against Angelina. Why it is so hard for people and myself to accept The New Face of Angelina. The UN Ambassador, the charity activities, it all sucks. I don’t know but she is not meant to be the voice of those people for whom life has been so unfair. What she does it is not her, it is something she decided to do just for a change, not because she believes and is dedicated on the cause.
