Jolie Confirms Adoption

March 15, 2007

Not like it was a secret or anything but Angelina Jolie has confirmed through Vietnamese press reports that she has adopted a young boy from the country. Jolie and her son Maddox arrived in Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday to complete the paperwork to adopt three-and-half-year-old Pax Thien today.

Jolie and Maddox are expected to spend a week in Vietnam awaiting Pax's new passport application, before returning back home to New Orleans, Louisiana.

Jolie's adviser on international affairs, Trevor Neilson, says, "Brad very much wanted to be there but is under contract working on a film in Los Angeles and as a result couldn't go." Jolie's representative confirms she took custody of the boy from the Tam Binh orphanage earlier today.

I couldn't agree with you more miss thang...kind of makes one question what her true agenda is....I suspect its the same one she has ALWAYS had: attention from the press.

Now I am all for adoption but I don't understand changing the boy's name and why she didn't bring her other kids with her. They too need to meet their "new" brother and see how they interact with this child. I was watching a show last night that had her on there and how she was talking about how diverse her family was and when it comes to adoption her and brad had to think do we get another asian for maddox or another black for zahara because shilow has me and brad to look at. I think she thinks this adoption is all a game to see how many ethnicities she can have growing up in her home and if she was all for diversity as she claims she is, why should it matter what ethnicity the next child is as long as it is one that will get along with all your children.

Yes it is cruel. Take him out of an orphanage with maximum amounts of kids, to a home with less child competition, to live in a very nice home, wear designer clothes, go to the best of schools, have the best of food and medical care, get to travel the world, have a mother and be part of a family is just plain cruel. Maybe it isn't the standard family that we are used to but look at it this way - if I was on fire I would rather have a fool put the fire out that a wise man keep his distance for his own safety.

I have to agree that buying that little boy, taking him away from all he knows, changing his name, confusing him and then trying to convince the world that she is "helping" him is just borderline pathological. Oh yes, this IS Angelina Jolie we are talking about. She has always been pathological and no matter how she attempts to redefine herself she will always be gutter trash and destructive to everything she touches. Does anyone really think this child knows who she is? Does anyone think he cares who she is? That poor child is devastated and traumatized just as his behavior was reported. Good going Ang, another child you have destroyed but then since she obviously doesn't view these children as real people with real feelings she shouldn't mind. I hope Maddox is pleased with his new playtoy.....and I hope she is pleased with her publicity. That poor child, like all of them, are paying the price. What a nauseating, heartless witch she is.

I agree about the name change. Why? I can understand if she gave the little boy an American sounding name because I know many Asians who have American names, but also keep their Asian name. Sometimes, the name is so difficult to pronounce in English, you might as well call yourself Mary or George because you get tired of having your real name mutilated. But I think Angelina changing the boy's name is wrong and selfish on her part. This child is 3-1/2 years old, not a newborn.

Good going, St. Angie, renaming a three-year-old kid to something YOU find prettier. Nice to see you have his "best interest" in mind. I don't suppose he'll be too confused living with strangers who don't speak his language and are calling him by a different name.
