Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie finally announced their engagement after seven years together and six kids and it caused an internet frenzy.
Angie’s 6 carat $250,000 ring is about to get its own twitter page cause its so damn fabulous. So what took these two so long to get married?
Brad and Angie both made public statements about how they refuse to get married until everyone can get married. Brad was a huge prop 8 supporter, even contributing over a $1 million dollars to the cause. As recently as last September, Brad told Ellen DeGeneres, "I’ve said that we would not be getting married until everyone in this country had the right to get married."
But it looks like they got tired of waiting—mostly because their kids kept asking when mommy was going to marry daddy. But good news for Brangelina, a gay rights group in California fully supports Brad and Angelina’s decision to tie the knot.
Rebekah Orr, Communications Director for Equality California, says the group is totally behind the Brangelina marriage, even if the right to vote is still not enjoyed by everyone.
She tells TMZ, "Marriage is something that says ‘we're a family’ in a way that nothing else can ... No one has to deny that for themselves or their family to prove they are an ally and supporter of equality."
