Brad and Angelina Lend Support to Haiti

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are no strangers to charity. That’s why we’re not surprised they have been quick to announce their pledge of support to the Haiti earthquake victims.

The couple released a statement saying, "We are devastated by the news from Haiti. We will work closely with our good friend Wyclef Jean to support the humanitarian efforts on the island and help those who have been injured and left without homes and shelter."

Haitian President Rene Preval says the 7.0-magnitude earthquake plus several strong aftershocks ravaged the poverty-stricken nation, and "thousands" are feared dead.

As Hollyscoop previously reported, Wyclef, who was born in Haiti, announced his own plans for a relief effort last night through his charity Yele.org. Donations encouraged! We’re hoping more celebrities follow suit and set up a fundraiser for the victims.
