Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie just got even richer.
The power couple won in a lawsuit against News of the World for printing a story about them with “false and intrusive” allegations that they were splitting up.
The headline from back in January read: “Pitts All Over,” and claimed they had visited a divorce lawyer to try and divide their assets. But Brangelina decided NOTW went a little too far, and took action.
The couple's attorney, Keith Schilling, said in a statement, "When the News of the World failed to publicly retract the allegations and apologize for them -- thereby leaving their readers in the dark as to the true position -- the couple felt they had no alternative than to sue. Today's victory marks the end of the litigation brought by Brad and Angelina."
The paper has agreed to publish an apology and pay Pitt and Jolie a settlement, which they intend to donate to charity.
What’s funny to us is why Brad and Angie picked this particular paper to sue, when it seems every day there’s a US tabloid claiming they’re breaking up. Either way, we suppose it’s for a god cause since the money is going to charity!
