Angelina Jolie never takes a day off.
She's gone straight from filming to a charity trip. This time, she returned to Ecuador to visit with refugees and check up on their condition.
"I wanted to come back and meet with vulnerable people and focus on violence against women and unaccompanied minors," Jolie said.
Angie, who is a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador, spent time at a daycare center run by the Women's Federation of Sucumbios and talked with families displaced from conflict in Colombia eight years ago. "I am so happy to be able to reconnect with some familiar faces, refugees I had met with during my 2002 trip," Jolie said.
This week a PSA featuring Angie aired in which she said, "Having a home, a place we belong, a place we feel safe, is something most of us take for granted...Please remember the millions of people around the world forced from their homes. Because the only hope of return is to not be forgotten."
She added, “It’s been eight years since I was last here and UNHCR’s presence has grown considerably. They are going into the thickest parts of the jungle to reach the refugees, who are living in very remote locations and in desperate conditions.”
It's hard to have any ill-will towards Angelina when you see how much good she's doing in the world! She's incredible!
