Captain America, better known by his stage name: Angelina Jolie, is back in Syria per her duties as United Nations Ambassador.'
Jolie traveled to the Turkey/Syria border today to meet with 9,600 refugees, and the actress will likely try to adopt all of them.
These refugees have fled the Syrian government’s violent onslaught on anti-government protesters. Jolie recently made a video for the Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, in which she said:
“Every day, thousands of people run from war, persecution and terror," she says in the clip. "Even one is too many. One family force to flee is too many. One child growing up in a camp is too many. One refugee without hope is too many."
Since the Syrian government’s crack down, more than 1,200 people have been killed under the reign of President Bashar al-Assad. The protesters are calling for the resignation of the President. And personally, I think Angelina should take his place.
The refugee camp prepared Jolie with a banner that read, “Goodness Angel of the World, Welcome”. Jolie arrived bearing toys for the children and spent two and a half hours talking to refugees and taking notes.
