So, last year Angelina Jolie directed a movie called In the Land of Blood and Honey. Did you see it, no seriously, I’m asking, who saw this movie? Anyways, Angelina shot the film in Bosnia to bring attention to the 1992-1995 Bosnian war.
Because of her contributions to the country, Angelina attended the 18th Sarajevo Film Festival over the weekend and became an honorary citizen of Bosnia.
Angelina attended the film festival with three of her kids: Shiloh, Pax, Zahara.
Upon receiving her honorary citizenship, Angelina told the crowd through tears, “This means so much to me. My heart is in this city.”
“It was the hardest thing I have ever done because of my deep respect for the people that really experienced it,” says Angelina, “The experience here was so unique for me that I felt very connected to the people,” Jolie told Reuters.
Angelina was asked if she would ever make another film to draw attention to a war-torn country.
“Unless I felt I was somebody that can really contribute, I don’t think I would do it,” she adds, “I have been writing and I’d love to try at some point to direct another film. I would like to try to learn about countries like Afghanistan but I don’t know if I am the best person to make the film about the subject matter.”
Angelina and her kids were seen boarding their private jet back to Los Angeles on Sunday. Angelina was clad in her usual garb, skinny jeans, black sweater, and Louis Vuitton monogram bag.
