Move over Oprah! Angelina Jolie is number one this year. Forbes has just released their annual Celebrity 100 List which determines the world’s most powerful star. After two consecutive years at the top, Oprah has slipped to the number two spot to make way for Angelina Jolie.
According to Forbes, “Jolie raked in $27 million in the past 12 months thanks to a movie schedule that included Kung Fu Panda, Wanted and the not-yet-released spy thriller Salt. Even more impressive: The publicity she garnered following the birth of her twins, as well as the consistent headlines she grabs for her philanthropic efforts and her relationship with actor Brad Pitt, who ranks No. 9 on the list.”
As for Oprah, don’t feel sorry for her No. 2 ranking. She managed to make $275 million last year. And by the looks of it, she’ll just continue to make more as time goes on.
Rounding out the top 5 positions in Forbes' rankings: Madonna, whose Hard Candy tour and $110 million income landed her the No. 3 slot; Beyoncé is No. 4; and Tiger Woods fell to No. 5 on the list, down from No. 2 last year.
Newcomers to Forbes' power list include Taylor Swift (No. 69), fellow country star Toby Keith (No. 59) and 30 Rock star Alec Baldwin (No. 91).
