Today, the tabloid world nearly short-circuited when formerly perfect Angelina Jolie stepped out with grey hairs showing, collectively offending all of humanity… Only not really.
The 37-year-old did step out during a G8 Foreign Ministers' Summit in London on Thursday to discuss additional funding to combat sexual violence in military combat regions. However, some outlets chose to highlight her hairstyle instead.
As the UK’s Daily Mail over-describes:
“The scraped back hairdo revealed the 37-year-old's abundance of grey hairs as she posed for the cameras alongside minister William Hague.”
If you are curious about how Angie, currently serving as U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees, accessorized her old lady locks, she “dressed in all black, with a simple dress and overcoat,” as the longwinded outlet also points out.
Meanwhile, more legitimate outlets like CBS News are actually highlighting the real crisis at hand. That is, “the forgotten victims” that result from wars in the Middle East and Africa.
“Today, I believe that their voices have been heard,” said Jolie, who along with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry asked for $36 million in additional funding to help prevent sexual violence and seek justice for its victims.
This is only the latest in Jolie’s ongoing humanitarian campaign. As we previously reported, the actress recently opened a school for girls in Afghanistan. No word on the color of her hair for that one, though.
