Angelina Goes to Iraq - Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie is one busy humanitarian. According to United Nations Refugee Agency UNHCR, Jolie is in Iraq to witness firsthand the humanitarian crisis there.

Jolie flew from New York to Syria on Monday and spent hours talking to Iraqi refugees in their homes. On Tuesday she crossed over to Iraq to meet with 1,200 refugees.

"I have come to Syria and Iraq to help draw attention to the humanitarian crisis and to urge governments to increase their support for UNHCR and its partners," Jolie said in a statement. "My sole purpose in both countries is to highlight the plight of those uprooted by the war in Iraq."

Following her Tuesday meeting at the Al Waleed camp in Iraq, Jolie said, "It is absolutely essential that the ongoing debate about Iraq's future includes plans for addressing the enormous humanitarian consequences these people face."

I truly commend Jolie on her humanitarian efforts, it's too bad that people put so much emphasis on her love life that they can't see that she's actually trying to make a difference in the world.

She isn't saving the world. She isn't being a mother. She is doing what comes naturally to her-Searching and seizing a publicity photo op. She lives for press and attention. Every activity she participates in is a front for her screaming-look-at-me mentality. I find it pathetic. I find her pathetic and I will object at every opportunity to this false pretense she portrays to the world....she is insulting every charitable individual out there truly trying to make a difference and every hardworking mother trying to raise a child. Her other publicity stunts weren't producing so now she is trying to jump on the Iraq band wagon. How pathetic.

i think angie should stop trying to save the world. it is clear she should stay home and save her relationship. she need's to put all the effort into being a mom to shiloh, that child is emotionally abused. she has a stronger bond with the 3 other children. i think that she wanted to keep brad, alway's worrying if he would leave to go back to jen. she gave him the most important thing that he has longed for, a child. she want's to stop all of the war's and fighting. well, ange why would you have a war themed party for maddox??? alot of people called you out on that. then when everyone said you neglected shiloh, you brought her out of hiding for a few outing's. that poor child is going to be so damaged when she get's older and see's for herself that she was left with nannie's while her mom and dad where out and about and she was left behinde. ange is a hypocrit and i am sorry but i trully beleive something is wrong with shiloh, she has droppy eye's and she alway's droile's she is so not a cute baby, i don't feel the love there. but, if you notice how happy ange is when she is carrying z, a how she look's like when she hold's shiloh, there is a big difference. and in most of ange's interview's she does not talk about shi being daddy's little girl, it is all about z, angie want's it that way. it would not surprise me if angie was still shooting up when she was carrying shi. i am a pediatric nurse, and shiloh look's like she has some serious phyical challenge's. that is why angie leaves her behind, that is my opion. she just got pregnant to tell the world she could. just another role she is playing, hypocrit...

Hey Liz : Yeah her kids have scowls on their faces everytime you see them! Is it the photographers or just exhaustion!? Please spare me your control freak theory. I'm practical and realistic. Plus I'm a parent so I tend to feel compassion for her children who are missing out on a childhood. NO one says you can't travel - people that are wealthy get to go to wonderful places alot, however, when your life is constantly about packing and unpacking I don't think that is healthy. I'm sure many doctors will agree with my theory! CHILDREN need routine, they thrive on routine. These children have none. I think she's doing them more harm than good. When you're older you can appreciate travel, and other cultures. I don't necessarily think a 1,2 and 3 year old can get much out of it. They probably wont even remember it. BUT their attitude and behavior in life will reflect not having any sort of foundation. This family moves around like a pack of wolves. If Jolie wanted to do so much with her time (work and humanitarian duties) then why did she take on 4 children? Children need more than travel to thrive. No one is saying move to the burbs. Just slow the hell down. Give the kids a chance to experience some "sort of normalcy".

We will see in the long run. Just like Jolie and her brother whine about not having a car in high school,and how there father never gave them time. We will hear the same thing about there own kids in the future. So, Liz this is a blog we don't need to give it a break.

Kate, letitbe, You two need to give it a complete break. Who are you to decide how this woman should devote her time? She is with those kids all the time. Your little fairy tales about the wicked mother come from nowhere but your bitter imaginations and your butts. Her children look like they are thriving and happy. They are being shown a big, wide world while in the safety of the loving arms of their parents. That's an ideal upbringing. You need to abandon this outdated and incorrect notion that children need some house in the burbs to grow up healthy. That is so narrow minded and wrong. Traveling with parents happens all the time in many families. There is nothing particularly disruptive about it. So get off your arrogant high horse. Why you think you have all the answers to raising kids is a mystery. You sound like a total control freak. I can't imagine living with you isn't giving the people around you neuroses. Lay off and mind your own business. Nice to see Jolie showing her children what it means to lead a life devoted to the right values. They will grow with great pride in her. Also good to be reminded while we are trying to get out of Iraq that we have to take care of those we leave behind with their lives left in a shambles.

Fatima we find the time just like you do! kim, you missed the point. AND what schools are Jolie's kids enrolled in considering they're never in one country for more than a few weeks?? Schools out of the country? or are we talking about daycare on the set of her latest movie? AND when they are in these "schools" they obviously never get to connect with other kids b/c their constantly being jetted off to another part of the world! This isn't about other moms that "have" to work. This is about Jolie who doesn't HAVE to work. She chooses to. Both her and Brad combined are worth over $100 million! I don't think they HAVE to work like they do. How about sending the kids to grandma pitt's home for a week ! Bet she would like to bond with them! AND send them there with a nanny or two to help out. Enough with this schlepping them all over the globe like their her luggage!

Every Film actress drag their kids from movie set to movie seti.e Cate Blanchett, Kate Winslett.At least Angie's kids are enrolled in school so they can socialize with normal kids when she or Brad are filming a movie.As for photographers Reese Witherspoon,Katie Holmes,Jennifer Garner kids are constanly harassed by photographers that comes with the territory of being famous. her kids probably spend more time with her then the average working mother since they can visit at the set.Film actors are an the set all day but are actually filming about 2-3 hrs a day the rest of the time is in their trailer.Lastly she has taken only 2 U.N. trips this year ,this one and one in Feb to Chad and she was back with her kids in less than a week.There are regular working moms who are away from their kids longer.Oh I know she was gone a few days because there were pap photos of her before and after the trip in New Orleans.

oh kim give it a freakin' break already! That's not what people are thinking and you know it. YOU sound like a fool. Jolie's life is a circus - a media circus no less - by no means is she staying with her kids for 6 hours let alone 24 hours a day! Unless they're in the air on a long flight. You defenders make me sick. Those kids will be so f***ed up and she'll keep doing what she does because idiots like you will continue to praise her for the nutjob lifestyle she lives! Parenting isn't about being with your kids all day. It's about using good judgement(not having your babies stormed by photographers every day), raising your child in a home NOT on a jet, giving them balance NOT jetlag, NOT different time zones every other week, allowing your child to develop socialization skills and play with other kids and to allow them to be most importantly " a child"! Now shut up until you know what you're talking about.

Every mother should stay at home with their kids 24 hrs a day.If you are a mother you should not work or do volunteeer work because you are taking away time from your kids.

Maybe Jolie should tend to her family and their homelife before trying to save the world! She looks underfed and her kids are jetlagged. Poor Brad... unloaded upon again. I support her helping refugee's, however, doesn't all of this traveling come at a price to her family. Either tone down the humanitarian work or tone down adding kids to the family or tone down making movies. Coming from a family of 4 kids, most people can not imagine their mother running off to save the world, flying from country to country, working and at the same time spending quality time with the kids. She has gotten ridiculous now. If she was single with no other responsibilities flying to a war zone would be fine . But why do that when you have children at home that need you?
