Amy Winehouse’s close friends and family will lay her to rest tomorrow July 26 at a private funeral in accordance with Jewish tradition.
The ceremony will take place in England, “…on Tuesday and will be a family and close friends affair” says a source.
Many well-wishers and fans have congregated at Amy’s Camden Square home on Monday morning where they created makeshift shrines and altars for the singer made from flowers, candles, and handwritten cards.
Amy’s dad Mitch addressed the crowd, “Amy was about one thing, and that was love…I can’t tell you what this means to us. It really is making this a lot easier for us. We’re devastated and I’m speechless, but thanks for coming.”
Winehouse is survived by her parents, Mitch and Janis, her brother, Alex, and her boyfriend, Reg Traviss.
The autopsy has not established a cause of death as the toxicology tests could take up to four weeks. People reported that no drug paraphernalia was found in her home though the Daily Mirror reported that friends say she died from alcohol and ecstasy use.
