Amy Poehler’'s Parks & Recreation Opens with Solid Numbers

Amy Poehler’s new show Parks & Recreation debuted last night, and their opening numbers were surprisingly good. The Thursday night lineup is already pretty impressive with The Office and 30 Rock, so Amy and her new gang may fit in nicely!

The show drew in 6.8 million viewers, which is what 30 Rock averages for their season. It’s not quite on par with The Office, though the two shows share the same documentary-style camera work.

We were laughing the way we do during Jack Donaghy’s soliloquies on 30 Rock, but there’s definite potential. And just given Amy’s body of work in the past, we’ll give it a few more weeks.
