Randy Jackson Releasing A Diet Manual

July 19, 2008

Randy Jackson from American Idol is releasing a book on dieting. We're not sure he's quite qualified for that type of publication. He got gastric bypass in 2003 to lose weight, and while he looked slim for a while, it looks like he's put a substantial amount back on. Well someone out there thinks he's expert enough, because he's apparently coming out with The No-Nonsense Guide to Getting Fit, Eating Better, and Living Longer this November.

The New York Post thinks it will be worth buying too, saying, "Having tried every diet, every gym, even bypass surgery, Randy now has this figured out so that followers can even eat down-home Southern favorites. I mean, in terms of body mass he's no Keira Knightley, but the guy seems passionate and persuasive, like he knows what he's talking about."

Would you buy a diet book from Randy Jackson?

A diet book from RANDY JACKSON?? What does he know about losing weight the natural way? He shouldn't be writing a book unless its about keeping the weight off after getting the bypass surgery.

Anyone can write a "diet" book, so he is as qualified as any doctor who studied the human body buy has never been obese nor lost weight, or any celebrity with millions of dollars, chefs and streses different than those of the common man/woman who typically buy their books. He is qualified because obviously he thinks he has information that can help someone, and that is always worth sharing. However, advice that is easily followed and duplicated by the reader is more credible when it comes from someone who lost weight and kept it off using the particular recommendations. If Randy's book does not mention Gastric Bypass surgery as a catalyst to weight loss, then his advice isn't as real as the "keep it real dog" could have given. I lost 130 pounds, have kept 100 of it off for 13 years. It's a pretty sure bet that I know what it takes to lose and keep off a great deal of weight. Dr. Mehmet Oz said while interviewing me on his Oprah & Friends show, that "maybe no one should be allowed to give diet advice if they haven't done it themselves--you know what you are talking about" Check it out, if you want to keep it real, dawg. www.JuliaHavey.com Julia Havey author, The Vice Busting Diet, Awaken the Diet Within
