Nigel Lythgoe Is Really Over American Idol

Rumor on the block is that the mastermind behind American Idol might not be returning for another season. According to TMZ, executive producer Nigel Lythgoe will leave the show after seven seasons.

Lythgoe is reportedly “not passionate” about the project anymore and he’s a bit bored so he wants someone else to take over. No replacements have been named at this time.

Lythgoe will spend his time on "So You Think You Can Dance" and he is also working on other projects.
