The American Idol contestants have been whittled down to nine. On last night’s episode, three guys found themselves in the bottom three: Matt Giraud, Scott MacIntyre, and Michael Sarver. And after all was said and done, Michael went packing.
He was given the awkward chance to “save himself” with a final performance of Aint Too Proud To Beg, but all the begging in the world wouldn’t have saved him, and he was voted off. Guess it’s back to oil rigging! Imagine having to go back to that after being groomed as a professional singer for the past couple months on Idol?
But after getting the boot, Michael said he was excited to see his family again. Since he made the top ten, he’ll be a part of the American Idol tour this summer.
So he’s opted not to go back to work for now. He says, “I don’t think it’s a good idea to take a chance on hurting myself and not going out on the tour.”
Once the tour is over, Sarver said he plans to focus on making his first album, which will be R&B and soul. And he plans to write most of the songs.
He says, “I’ve written over 890 songs since the age of 14. I have a lot of stories. I’ve gone through a hard-lived life and I’m going to share it.”
