Former Idol Blames Simon For Drug Abuse Problem

Rather than step up to the plate and accept responsibility for her drug and alcohol addictions, former American Idol hopeful Nikki McKibbin has decided to go ahead and point fingers. Who is the target? That would be none other than Simon Cowell himself.

"I came out of Idol with a lack of self-confidence. I had never been told I wasn't good enough. Having to hear it for so many weeks from Simon Cowell killed me inside. I couldn't get the s--t he had said to me out of my20head. It drove me deeper into my depression," she said.

In all fairness, Simon was a bit rough on Nikki after some of her performances. He even went so far as to compare her to Adam Sandler's tone deaf character in The Wedding Singer. Either way, we're just glad to see that she's finally getting herself clean and sober.
