'Teen Mom' Amber Portwood is Safe Following Suicide Attempt

Amber Portwood attempted to commit suicide earlier this week, but according to her baby's daddy, she is doing just fine. Sorry, MTV, I'm sure this throws a wrench in Season 4.

Following her hospitalization on Tuesday, Amber's on again/off again boyfriend and baby daddy Gary Shirley Tweeted:

"Amber is safe and getting the help she needs right now. Thanks for your prayers and support."

If you're familiar with the Teen Mom series, you know that Amber has mental health issues and has had to get help in the past for her abusive anger problems. Also if you're familiar with the Teen Mom series, you should probably get help for your own mental health issues.

On Tuesday, Shirley, 24, called 911 after concerns that 21 year-old Portwood was planning to hurt herself. In past episodes, Portwood has punched Shirley, often referring to him as a "fatass". Which sounds oddly similar to an episode of The Biggest Loser.

Portwood is being evaluated at an Indiana hospital, and according to a source, Shirley visited her on Tuesday afternoon. Word has it he was just scouting the place for leftover pudding, though.

In December, the reality star was charged with two felony counts of domestic battery and a misdemeanor one following the aforementioned punching. She was also charged with neglect of her daughter, Leah.
