Amanda Bynes was placed in a 5150 hold last night after she was found lighting a fire in a random person’s driveway near her parents’ Thousand Oaks home.
Amanda will be held against her will at the mental health facility for up to 72 hours, but what happens after those 72 hours is anybody’s guess. But we do know that Amanda will not face charges for lighting the fire.
“Regarding the fire,” says Captain Don Aguilar at Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, “There are no criminal charges against Amanda and there will not be.”
As for Amanda’s mental state, Aguilar tells Hollyscoop, “What happens next completely depends on what the doctors determine. If she is mentally competent, meaning not of danger to herself or others, nothing will happen. If she is diagnosed as a danger to herself or others, she can be placed under conservatorship and that would mean she would be forced to either enter treatment and/or have no choice as to what her guardians decide."
Hopefully for Amanda’s sake, her parents will take control of her life, like Britney Spears' parents did with her conservatorship.
