Amanda Bynes isn’t walking free today.
A judge has granted the request to extend Amanda’s psychiatric 5150 hold another two weeks, TMZ is reporting.
The actress was just in a court hearing moments ago, at the psychiatric hospital where she’s being held. A judge presided over the hearing at the hospital, where doctors argued that they needed more than 72 hours to properly determine whether or not Amanda is a danger to herself or others.
Amanda’s mom is also approaching a judge today to request a temporary conservatorship over her 27-year-old daughter’s personal and business affairs, reports the New York Daily News.
The judge is expected to conduct a closed-door hearing with Lynn Bynes this morning (Rick Bynes, Amanda’s father is not participating because his relationship with his daughter is estranged and doesn’t work in the appeal’s favor).
It’s a petition similar to Britney Spears’ situation when her parents filed for conservatorship over the singer in 2008.
The hearing is set for 8:30 a.m. PST.
