Amanda Bynes’ parents believe she’s in a troubled state of mind, which is why they’re requesting to retain their daughter under a temporary conservatorship.
According to the legal documents presented to the judge, obtained by TMZ, Amanda has become “extremely paranoid about being watched”—so much so that she covers smoke alarms with towels and tapes all her windows to prevent cameras from recording her.
She also has “profound issues with her body image” and is “obsessed with the fact that she [and others] are ugly.”
On the financial side, Amanda is also burning through her $4 million fortune, recklessly spending her money left and right. In a short amount of time she spent $1.2 million, withdrawing up to $100,000 in cash at a time. Her parents have no idea where all that money went; they believe it went towards purchasing marijuana and illegal substances.
As for the question of how she got from New York to California in the first place without being photographed by a single photographer? Her parents say that she “cabbed it” and also said they think she may be homeless.
"My clients only want the best for their daughter," the Bynes family attorney Tamar Arminak told People. "They love her very much."
The court ultimately denied the plea for a temporary conservatorship this morning, because the judge wants to wait for more info on Amanda’s state of mind first.
