Amanda Bynes is on the path to recovery. Her progress is on the move, from UCLA Medical Center to a remote rehab facility in Malibu, Hollyscoop has learned.
According to a source close to Amanda, the actress is currently in an outpatient treatment program, The Canyon Treatment Center. While she’s still under an LPS hold, also known as a mental health or psychiatric hold, she has more freedom to gain control of her life—a promising sign regarding her sobriety and mental state.
“She has repaired the damage that she had with her parents,” a source close to Amanda exclusively told Hollyscoop. “She is contacting friends again and they will be able to come visit her now. She has cut out the bad people and kept the good.”
News that she’s no longer under the watchful eye of UCLA and is now in an outpatient rehab facility created some cause for concern, but a Bynes family attorney defended the change.
“Currently, upon recommendation by the skilled healthcare professionals at UCLA Medical Center, Amanda is receiving specialized treatment in a private facility outside of Los Angeles,” her lawyer Tamar Arminak confirmed in a statement to Hollyscoop. “Amanda is making great strides towards recovery.”
