The Bachelorette star, Ali Fedotowsky, has called it quits with her fiancé, Roberto Martinez. Why didn't it work out? Because she starred on The Bachelorette, that's why. If you want to meet someone that you'll waste a few years of your life with before deciding to end things, star in The Bachelor or The Bachelorette.
A rep for the couple told Us Weekly: "Ali Fedotowsky and Roberto Martinez have ended their relationship. As they go through this difficult time, we ask that you respect the couple’s privacy."
I wonder who gets custody of the rep.
Fedotowsky, who was probably in a hurry to change her name, because this is only the third time I've typed it, and it's already driving me nuts, had postponed the wedding earlier this year.
They were engaged for about eighteen months. When the value of your engagement ring has appreciated by 25% since you first put it on, it's probably time to get married. But Fedotowsky put off the wedding anyway, blaming it on scheduling conflicts and a kickboxing injury. You know your girl don't want to marry you when she takes up kickboxing just to get out of the wedding.
"Their relationship has been tumultuous since day one," an insider said. "They're either extremely happy or they can't stand each other."
Yeah, those wedding vows would've been interesting. From the moment I met you, you've disgusted me. You’re my best friend. I hate you.
"They bring out the worst in each other," another source said. "She's miserable in the relationship, and he is too."
Well, they're certainly not alone. Most relationships from The Bachelor or The Bachelorette have not worked out. For example, there were all these people...
Brad Womack: Womack chose DeAnna Pappas and Jenni Croft has his two finalists, but he rejected both of them in the season's finale. He reappeared in season 15 in January 2011. The season ended with him proposing to Emily Maynard. The two broke up in May 2011.
Jake Pavelka: Jake proposed to Veinna Girardi in season 14 of The Bachelor. The two ended their relationship later that year.
Bob Guiney: Bob chose finalist Estella Gardinier in Season 4 of The Bachelor, back in September 2003. He didn’t propose, but he gave her a promise ring. They split up after the show aired.
DeAnna Pappas: DeAnna went from The Bachelor to The Bachelorette, where she chose Jesse Csincsak. The two were going to married in May of 2009, but they announced their split in November 2008.
