In such a short career, Alexander McQueen's influence was astonishing. He not only won over critics and major fashion magazine editors, he also won over the hearts of celebrities.

Supermodel Kate Moss was not only a huge fan of his collection, she was a fan of McQueen himself. And she's absolutely "devastated" over his death.

"Kate is shocked and devastated at the tragic loss of her dear friend Lee McQueen. Her thoughts are with his family at this sad time. We would also ask that Kate's privacy is respected," said a rep for Moss.

Designers Vivienne Westwood and Matthew Williamson also paid tribute.
Vivienne was "incredibly sorry" to hear the news, a spokesman said, while fellow designer Matthew commented: "I am shocked and deeply saddened by McQueen's death - he was a genius and his talent was second to none."

He went on: "Like many others, I always cited him as a hugely inspirational leader of world fashion - he will be greatly missed."

McQueen's suicide comes a week after the death of his mother (Feb. 2) and almost three years after style icon, Isabella Blow took her own life. So tragic! Rest in peace Lee, you'll be missed!
