Alec Baldwin to Replace Keith Olbermann?

Word on the street is that Alec Baldwin is being considered to take over for Keith Olbermann on MSNBC!

As you probably already know, Olbermann was fired from the network last week. Now rumor has it Baldwin is in talks to get his own political talk show.

“He’s already part of the NBC family, has a huge fanbase and is very respected for his long-term passions for politics,” a source told Popeater.com.

“He’s brilliant on camera and honestly cares about news and fighting for the rights of everyday people. Don’t count him out,” the insider added. “There was a time when everyone said Alec would never do a sitcom, only movies. Those same people are saying he would never run for office or host a political show.”

Is it bad that I totally don’t want this to happen because I’m not ready for him to leave 30 Rock? I know it’s selfish, but without him, the show would not be the same!

Baldwin even commented on ditching acting for politics, saying, "Yes, it's something that I'm very, very interested in. To quit (acting) now when it really feels good and doing it feels good would be an enormously difficult thing to do. However, I do believe that people want to believe that someone who deeply cares about the middle class ... would like to seek public office."
