The “30 Rock” star didn’t just put a ring on it, he put a date on it… And it’s coming up fast.
Alec Baldwin will be making his yoga instructor fiancée Hilaria Thomas a June bride. The couple is scheduled to be wed on June 30 in New York.
The New York Post unleashed the details about the ceremony. The couple will do their nuptials at the Bascillla of St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral on Mulberry Street in the NoLita section of the city.
If it isn’t badass enough for you that Baldwin is marrying a yoga instructor, he’ll be doing it in the same church that Francis Ford Coppola filmed the baptism scene of The Godfather. The establishment was also used as a location for a graveyard shot in the Martin Scorsese classic Gangs of New York.
“This wasn’t a quick decision. It took a lot of planning,” a source told the New York Post.
Due to the fact that this will be a Catholic ceremony, several documents were needed in order to move forward, including a baptismal certificate from each side. (And, no… a reenactment of the Godfather baptismal scene would not suffice.)
The news comes after rumors that the couple might elope overseas. After finishing up at Cannes, Baldwin has been working on a documentary with director James Toback in Europe.
Because Baldwin’s first marriage did not take place in a house of worship, take two will be able to proceed in the church. His first marriage to Kim Basinger in 1993 happened on a beach in East Hampton.
Baldwin and Thomas got engaged in April after moving in together last August.
