After late-gate (what we’re calling the Jimmy Fallon/Jay Leno "Late Night" drama), Alec Baldwin has thrown his name into the ring.
After Baldwin threatened to become a politician (too angry for that?), he has decided that his follow up to “30 Rock” might be as the host of a new NBC talk show.
He’s “in talks to develop a new late night show” that would air super late at 1:35 a.m., the same time slot “Last Call With Carson Daly” used to have.
Yeah, Carson Daly had a talk show. No, we didn’t watch it either.
And for those of you who think, well, is Alec even good at hosting? What qualifications did Jimmy Fallon have? Yeah, and now he’s going to host "The Tonight Show."
However, Baldwin does have some tricks up his sleeve. He’s hosted "SNL" 16 times (which isn’t really “hosting” but whatever), he co-hosted the Oscars and he does have a podcast called “Here’s the Thing” and it’s not just your basic podcast, he’s actually interviewed really interesting people like Chris Rock, Michael Douglas, David Letterman and Lena Dunham.
So yeah, we think Alec Baldwin is going to be great.
