Alec Baldwin appeared on the "Late Show with David Lettermen" on Wednesday to promote… something that seems inconsequential at this point, and to discuss the previous days altercation with what he still claims was an overly aggressive paparazzo.
Lettermen tried to seriously address the issue a few times, and he seemed to be attempting to side with Baldwin's take on the story, but was met only with Alec's characteristic cocky humor as he tried to diffuse and derail the conversation.
While Lettermen held up the tell tale photograph of the scuffle, Baldwin offered up only, "I think you can see, I’m forming the letter ‘F’ with my mouth, and what I’m saying is — I said to him as I walked up to him, ‘What F-stop are you on with the camera?’ ”.
Despite the pictorial evidence of Baldwin lunging at the photographer, Baldwin is claiming it was he that was assaulted by the man and his camera, and he just simply pushed the shutterbug out of his face, during Tuesday's skirmish outside of the NYC courthouse that he entered to get his marriage license.
Though he he says he didn't hit the man, on Lettermen he made flat out threats of going medieval on him had they both been apprehended by authorities. “You don’t want to know what would happen in the jail cell if we were together in the jail cell.”
The NY Daily News is reporting that Baldwin went on to prove his innocence on Wednesday as he ran over another reporters foot while barreling by on his mountain bike. The 5 foot 2 inch tall female reporter said “Ouch, my back. He shoved me and ran over my foot."
He also allegedly rammed his handlebars into another reporter and a photographer, all who were outside of his apartment to ask about the previous days alleged altercation. Is anyone else sensing other potential lawsuits here?
At one point on the Late Show Baldwin dropped his pants to prove he's lost some weight. The effort comes a little late however, as he's already showed us his ass. Publicly. A few times.
The good news is he is set to marry his yoga instructor girlfriend Hilaria Thomas later this month. And while we certainly don't doubt that the paparazzi are totally annoying, we are hoping that Thomas can teach him some meditative techniques to better cope with the more trying aspects of his super stardom.
