Akon Dedicates a Song To Gwen Stefani

Akon

Akon's relationship with Gwen Stefani might have gone sour after Verizon wireless dropped the sponsorship for her “Sweet Escape” tour. As you all remember Akon recently apologized to Gwen for the controversy surrounding his Trinidad concert. It appears that the public apology wasn’t enough because Akon’s singing about his sorrows.

In a new song called “SORRY”, Akon apologizes to Gwen in regards to humping a 14 year old at his concert in Trinidad. He mentions how he had no idea she was underage since it all went down at a 21 and over club. Akon also goes on to say that her father, who is a priest, should have known where his daughter was at that time. He ends the song with a apology to Gwen for all his actions.

We are pretty sure Gwen and her camp were pretty upset over the loss of a big sponsorship. We're talking about millions of dollars at loss and these days a tour is the only way artists even make money so you do the math. It must be really bad for an artist to take the extra step and make melodies to show his apologies.

Akon is sorry alright, sorry he got caught. If he was so sorry, why did he proceed to throw another kid head first off the stage. This guy is all about himself, he takes no responsibility for his actions, it was the girl's fault, she shouldn't have been there, blah, blah, blah...Akon had the choice to make the decision he did, no one forced him.I get so sick and tired of these "celebrities" blaming everyone but themselves for their stupid mistakes.I know I'd be ticked off big time if I were in Gwen's place. Verizon did not want irate parents pulling their business.akon needs to go away.

I dont think they should have droped him. It was not his reponsibility to check her age when it was a 21 and over party. What happened is not unusal in caribbean dances but how the hell was he to know she was underage dressed like that with tattos

IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW OLD SHE WAS - THAT IS A RED HERRING. SHE HAD NO CHANCE TO CONSENT - THAT IS THE ISSUE. SHE COULD AHVE BEEN 45 AND IT STILL WOULD AHVE BEEN WRONG. "BLAME THE VICTIM, BLAME THE VICTIM, BLAME THE VICTIM, AND THEN OFFER SOME LAME ASS APOLOGY TO SOMEONE WHO DIDN'T GET VIOLATED"? JUST GOES TO SHOW THAT A) HIS LAME SONGS TAKE 10 MINUTES TO WRITE AND B) HE HAS NO RESPECT FOR WOMEN TO THE DEGREE THAT HE CAN'T EVEN SEE WHY WHAT HE DID WAS WRONG. PATHETIC WOMAN HATER.

ABSOLUTELY D*I*S*G*U*S*T*I*N*G* TO SEE THAT THE BACKLASH AGAINST FEMINISM IS SO PERVASIVE THAT "JERINE" (WHOM I PRESUME TO BE A WOMAN) IS SAYING "SHE DESERVED IT - LOOK AT WHAT SHE WAS WEARING". IGNORANCE IS VERY DANGEROUS.

Akon is a mean, perverted ass. He needs to shut down the 'roids. I hope everyone dumps his azz. He threw that kid off the stage and didn't think 2 seconds about it, either. You can bet he's only pissed about the 14 year old because he got caught. He could care less. What he's "sorry" about is the fact that he stands to lose a lot of money because he's being braced by the public and Gwen for his actions. Akon is off my listening list forever. He's a waste of skin. Eh.

I think Akon's apology is a sincere one....You truly can't put all the blame on him. Some has to go to the Girl and The Club. Every Celebrity makes these mistakes at some point in their career so I think it is a little harsh to say those things about Akon.

Judging from "Jerine"'s grasp of the situation and of general morals, it's obvious that the gist of her (double) post is summarized by the first three words. Akon's music is crap and Verizon was right to pull their sponsorship.

well from what i've read and heard i think that the blame should go to all, akon for not getting his facts straight and by judging the girl by apprnce, surely there must been signs that she is a baby, (young), the 114 yr old for being where she was not supposed to be and lying about her age wait gal ur tym will come to get into these kinda gigs and to the club for not practising their security accuractly, coz firstly the gal should have not being there.

look it was a 21 and older club he couldnt help it that they let her in a 21 and over club?its not like she looks very young especially in a dark club once he pulled her up he couldnt just stop his little act and assumed she was of age cause of the club. hes a rapper rapping about the streets what is he supposed to do, shake her hand and thank her for coming? Its all part of the persona. if even stems past rappers. think about it what would gene simmons do to a woman at his show? would we hate him if everyone in the club was supposed to be 18 and wasnt? she wasn't hurt, she doesn't seem to have psychological damage, akon apologized let him be hes just havin fun he got caught up in the moment. I dont even know why verizon pulled funding any media attention is good PR. people are way to sensitive calm down and let him be. hes being punished enough u know how much money hes lost?

hey i'm a trini and as far as i'm concerned evry1 down here in trinidad came to da general concensus dat yea akon behaved disgusting but worse sh.t has hpened wit other performers all over da world and dat girl had absolutely no right to be there!...skimpy top, navel ring, tatoos and all. no one knew she was even over 18 (btw its an 18yrs and over club peoples...21yrs and over for vip upstairs but teenyboppers go dere too) and according to verizon her age was mainly the reason they pulled the funds bcuz it was seen as a kindof rape of a child. think about it if she was 45 it would have only raised a few eyebrows and ppl wud jus be like 'geez get a room!' and we already established he has no respect for women (smack that anybody??) but den again show me a rapper that does and i'll take it back. so i accept his apology cuz he really did get out of hand and Big T is right he has really been punished enough. hello?? millions of dollars?? tension back home?? ppl burning cds?? laterz

1. 14yrs girl shouldnt have been there, therefore, it is partially her fault.-are you going to say that if she was a victim of murder case, not simple humping? regardless of her age, privilege to be in the club, she is a victim, and victim is a victim. 2. akon doesnt have to check her age. - of course he doesnt. but not knowing people's age in the club gives him right to hump and humiliate that girl in front of everyone? again regardless of her age. 3. her father should know where his daughter's whereabout. - very selfish/funny/stupid/idiotic logic! if you're thinking this, im sorry you would have to agree to this: akon should have known that humping a girl, especially the way he did it, was wrong regardless of girl's age, the way she dressed/had tatoo..... this is just sick and disgusting. how you all close minded people even dare to think that 0.00000000000000000000000000000000001 percent of fault belongs to the 14years old girl? all of you guys have lost your morality....you know what that means....you're no longer human being...you're all human doing or.....just an animals.....bunch of animals...... done!

I'm sorry is really a damage control song. Good work, luv u
Posted by: anna on 06/15/2007 08:23 AM

Say what you want about Akon. What he did with the 14 yr. old may be wrong to some, but it was entertaining to the crowd. If the girl was 21 or older, this wouldn't be an issue. It seemed to me that the girl enjoyed it. At that specific moment I don't think she was humiliated at all. The man apologized to the only person who deserved an apology; Gwen. Akon's right; the girl shouldn't have been there in the 1st place. I'm not saying he's innocent, but we wouldn't be talking about this if she wasn't a young girl in an adult club. Stop hatin Akon. Parents, take some responsibility. Ladies, don't be mad. There are plenty of other women who would've loved to be in that girls shoes. If you're not one, you shouldn't be mad.
Posted by: geezy on 06/15/2007 09:49 AM

Who really got harmed here? People keep talking about a "victim". The girl is a victum of her own stupidity, if you go to a club pretending to be older, everyone will assume you are older. Akon may have gone overboard but it was a show. It provided entertainment. Gwen is the one that got the raw deal though. The song I like. Those ones spitting fire and brimestone at Akon, your just adding more, ironically, to his popularity. I'm sure you wouldn't have given him a thought until now. There are more important, "real" things to get upset about, get a life and do something about those tragedies.

UMmmm........YOU know what Akon ....I kinda believe your a little bit sorry ... and i still can't understand why you'd hump someone in the 1st place so..... GWEN babe i'm so sorry that this guy destroyed some possiblities for you and i think that he's not sorry enough you have a child and i'm sure you don't want this kinda thing going arooung and i'm sure you would be pissed off if he did that to your girl even tho your son's a boy what if it was your kid and how mad would you feel AKON SHAME ON YOU! AND YES ALL BLAME SHOULD BE ON YOUR AND NOT BEAUTIFUL STEFANI! take responsiblities for your actions and stand up that it was wrong and now hopefully you will not do that again ....

Akon is the man his music is great

Lets get a few things straight. First off she is no victim. She had every possibility to yell rape, try to get off stage, or fight back. She did none of that. A victim is somebody that has no choice. A victim is like my cousin Autumn who was walking to her car and got held up and raped at gun point. A victim is like my boyfriend who was sitting at a red light and got rear ended by a drunk driver doing 45. You can't possibly compare her to them. A victim has no choice. She had a choice. Yes she is a minor, but as much as it pains me to say this Akon is right. Her father should have known where his child was and what she was doing. When I was 18 I wasn't allowed to even get my ears pierced much less a tatoo and a belly button ring. My parents were not even that religious. Part of the problem is that parents want society to help them raise thier children instead of doing that job themself. Turn off the tv and make your children read a book. Give them curfews and monitor what they listen to. If you hear a swear word on the tv or the radio, don't get mad at the show, just turn it off and don't let your kids watch it. Don't like it yourself, then don't watch or listen to it. There is a reason we have age rules. If those rules aren't enforce then the minors will have to learn the hard way. If little Johnny isn't tall enough to ride the rollercoaster and knows it but sneaks on, well sorry little johnny died, but you should have been watching your child. I know it sounds harsh and rough, but when I was a child my parents warned me twice that a stove was hot. When I didn't listen I learned the hard way and never touched the stove again. To quote another rapper (Eminem) from his song Who Knows "Quit tryin to censor music, this is for your kid's amusement But don't blame me when lil' Eric jumps off of the terrace You shoulda been watchin him - apparently you ain't parents"

Akon is sooo awesome and he didn't know that she was only 14 so she is at blame because it was a 21 and older club.I love akon and i know for a fact that he wouldn't have done it if he knew her REAL age but he wrote a song about how sorry he is isn't that enough.so please just stop hating him.he's a really nice guy,so i've heard.please just give him a second chance we are all begging you just stop hatin' on Akon because sooner or later he might quit singing and be some homeless guy in new york

First off, the girl needs a good box, second, stop bashing the parents so much, the girl told her dad she wuz goin 2 get ice-cream then sleep over at her cousins house, SHE WUZ WEARIN NORMAL CLOTHES! How is the dad supposed to know she was lyin. Third, why Akon does the stuff he does I don't know, the hump thing wuz wrong period, how would u feel if Akon did that 2 ur daughter or sister or cousin, wud u feel the same way then, n then throwing the kid off the stage cause he threw somethin at you, C'MON, dats goin a bit overboard.

I think akon is an amamzing singer I don't think he should have humped a girl on stage no matter how old she was.I'm not saying its his fault but u now he should have been less sexual. I dont think Gwen Stefani should have got punished for his mistakes.I mean she didn't do anything wrong. I also think akon should have got in a litle bit more trouble but what r u goin to do. I love u Gwen Stefani.

if the girl was at an akon concert she is a fan and prob was a great expierence for her to be up on stage if gwen steffanie pulled me on stag i wouldnt have cared akon did nothin wrong cept no check age so BACK UP OFF THE POOR GUY
Posted by: jay on 08/08/2007 12:44 PM

I feel that the people should give him credit for at least stepping up and apologizing to his fans and to Gwen Steffani. It's not his fault that an underage girl was at his concert. It's not his job to check her id. It was the job of the security and also her parents. If they allowed their child to be out, alone at that. So I feel that everyone should accept his apology and start concentrating on the parents at hand. If these parents would concentrate more on what their children are out here doing, then this wouldn't even be a problem right now.

fuck you bitch
Posted by: bitch on 08/16/2007 05:15 PM

Akon had no right to dry fuck a fan, no matter what their age, sex or height is. It's sexual assult and it's illegal at any age. I mean, if a normal person walked up to a random girl and started doing that, they'd go to jail for sure, no matter how old she is, so Akon should be glad he's a celebrity and can pull off a lame ass excuse as "it was just entertainment" and be let off with a dumb song like this. PS: The girl's only fault was that she was underaged, but she didn't go on stage asking him to humiliate her. She won a dancing contest which promissed she would DANCE with Akon not get screwed by him on stage. Nasty!
Posted by: face_the_truth on 08/17/2007 09:43 AM

Akon is not there to know who is 21 or not. When there is carnival no one even pays attention to things like that, so why is this so alarming. I think it's because the father is a priest and the public found out. So Akon as we in the Islands say na tek worries yo still have much love from us.
Posted by: Audrey on 08/18/2007 11:51 AM

Akon should be ashamed of himself even doh its not his fault he not sopposed to go humping a 14 year old girl he has to step up and take responsibility ask her how old she is before going dancing with her at least he is confident and another thing why would he just because somebody throw something at him tell that person to appologize the same way he did and akon keep ur bleeddy shirt on

A little goes on stage to dance "SMACK THAT" in an adult club. Fine, Akon gets some blame, but pleeaasse! Besides, at that time, he was "humping" a "21 and over" with the person's consent.
