“I’d be okay with being a one-hit wonder and set for life.” We’ve all expressed this sentiment before (those of us not serious about making music), but we might want to stop because it’s just not true. Aaron Carter is a testament to that.
The “I Want Candy” singer, who’s now 25 years old, has filed for bankruptcy; he’s $2.2 million deep into debt with only $8,232 in assets to his name.
Court papers obtained by TMZ show what possessions he declared including:
- 61” flat screen ($500)
- 2 MacBooks
- 2 Headset mics
- Mini keyboard (not even a regular-sized keyboard)
- Portable Beats
- Cash (all $60)
- Louis Vuitton backpack
- Duffle bag
- Brietling watch ($3,750)
- His dog (which he listed at $0.00 SAD FACE)
In a statement from the singer’s rep: “Aaron filed for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy protection to alleviate past issues in an effort to move forward with his life and career. The overwhelming majority of the debt he is asking to be discharged is from more than 10 years ago when he was a minor and not in control of his finances.”
