Weeds @ 10pm
Life (and death) on the Cal-Mex border becomes fraught with seriously involving drama, as the fourth season ends with a hold-onto-your-seat cliff-hanger. Good guys (to whom Nancy has been talking) and bad guys are being shot and tortured; buddies are screwing their friend's girlfriends; daughters are turning on their mothers; sons are getting deeper into the illicit family business. And Esteban's evil empire is in danger of crashing down around him, and he holds photographic evidence as to whom is responsible. Wait until you see the photo finish that it all comes down to.

The Closer @ 9pm
The Closer closes up its 10-episode summer season arc with a decidedly explosive outing revolving around the death of a teenager. Top cop Brenda Leigh Johnson and her prime-crime Priority Homicide Division (well, now renamed the Major Crimes Division after its moniker overhaul) suspect the teen's death is connected to a meticulous bombing plot. Soon a bombshell is dropped: If the fiery scheme goes off, hundreds of innocent people will perish. Racing against the tick-tock of time, our lovely Southern lass must find the weapon of mass destruction before all hell breaks loose.

One Tree Hill @ 9pm
Tree Hill is no stranger to tragedy, and last week yet another shooting death rocked this small North Carolina town. A few years ago, the gang grieved the death of Lucas' beloved uncle Keith, and tonight they come to grips with the loss of teenage basketball star Quentin. What makes things harder this time is the fact that Nathan and Haley have to convey the concept of death to their 5-year-old son, Jamie, and help him cope with the loss of a friend he looked up to.

Prison Break @ 9pm
For now, a card-a-week pattern seems to be emerging, with Wyatt (Cress Williams) a step or two behind our gang. Tonight he'll track them to L.A., and Sara in particular is advised to watch her back. But then Wyatt should do the same because Mahone's gunning for him — and it's personal. Meanwhile, look for a rough day at the office for T-Bag, who's also beginning to discover that the bird book might be more trouble than it's worth.
