NBC Shakes Things Up Tonight – '30 Rock' is 'Live' and 'Community' Does 'Law & Order'

Anything can happen on NBC tonight! “30 Rock” goes live, which marks the second time that the sitcom tapes an all-live episode! No cuts, no edits, no “let’s take it from the top.” Tonight’s episode could potentially feature tons of slip-ups, surprise celebrity cameos, and I dunno, use of the BLEEEEEP button!

Tina Fey recently told Entertainment Weekly that tonight’s episode will feature a cameo or two from some “friends of comedy, some friends of ’30 Rock.’”

Also, anything that has “live” and “Tracy Morgan” in it at the same time, is bound to be a spectacle. In the teasers for the episode, Tracy thinks “live” means “no script.”

Just ask Alec Baldwin, who back in December 2011 did a spot-on impression (video below) of the actor during an appearance on Conan O'Brien, telling the host Tracy never remembers his lines.

The cast will actually film the episode twice, once for the east coast and again for the west coast. Both versions of the episode will air online for a short time after.

After "30 Rock" is an all new episode of “Community” and it’s - BONG BONG - “Law & Order” style. This parody episode is going to feature lots of oversized leather trench coats and people throwing around phrases like “objection” and “we’ve got to get to the bottom of this!”

“Community” is known for their parody episodes. Like the “Pulp Fiction” episode that was really a parody of “My Dinner With Andre” and the episode that made fun of “Glee.”

After Community is another new episode of “Parks and Recreation” that has Paul Rudd reprising his role as political dope, Bobby Newport.

So that’s what’s going on with NBC’s Thursday night comedy line-up. A live show, followed by a faux “Law & Order” and finally an appearance by America’s sweetheart Paul Rudd.
