24 Takes Credit For Obama's Success

Our country is on the brink of possibly having our first African American president, and Fox's 24 says they may have something to do with it. Dennis Haybert, who played president Palmer on 24, says he may have helped make Barack Obama's candidacy for president possible.

Haybert says, "If anything, my portrayal of David Palmer, I think, may have helped open the eyes of the American people. And I mean the American people from across the board—from the poorest to the richest, every color and creed, every religious base—to prove the possibility there could be an African-American president, a female president, any type of president that puts the people first."

Celebs love to take credit for historical milestones! According to that logic, if Tila Tequila can make gay marriage legal, then 24 definitely paved the way for the first possible black president.
