Jack Bauer will live on to save the world! 24 may be ending, but it’s not the last time we’ll see our favorite action star. It’s being reported that 24 is being turned into a movie.

According to the New Hollywood Reporter, the show’s producer Howard Gordon has given the film script the go ahead. It’ll be written by the same screenwriter who did State of Play and Shattered Glass, and could be out as soon "as early as next year, depending on how things come together,” said Gordon.

And the film is trying something completely different from the show by taking out the “real time” aspect. Gordon says over the years, that’s what has made the show so predictable.

"We've done everything we feel we can do with that character in this format," Gordon said. "The opportunity [of a movie] is not to use the real-time aspect and also to do it on a scale the TV show never allowed."

The only other thing we know about the flick is that it will not be a prequel. So that means Jack will likely live through the rest of this final season. But did we expect any less?! It’s Jack Bauer!

Kiefer Sutherland suffered a minor injury while shooting for his hit show '24' and now production is coming to a halt while he undergoes minor surgery.

"We are temporarily suspending production of 24 while our friend and colleague Kiefer Sutherland undergoes a medical procedure," the network says in a statement.

"We hope to resume production shortly and do not anticipate any disruption in the broadcast of this season's episodes."

A rep for Sutherland added: "While Kiefer Sutherland is frustrated to miss even one day of work, he and FOX decided together that it would be best to complete this minor elective procedure now as a precaution as opposed to six weeks from now when production wraps. He looks forward to returning to work (this) week."

Get well soon Kief!

Jack Bauer is being given yet another chance to save the world! And this time, he may have more than one day to do it!

According to Variety, Twentieth Century Fox's film and TV studios are finally in talks to bring hit 24 to the big screen.

The story line reportedly takes Kiefer Sutherland's character Jack to Europe, something the studio is very excited about, as well as Kiefer Sutherland, who not only stars, but is an executive producer as well.

This comes at a time of uncertainty for the series, which has yet to be picked up for a ninth season on Fox. Insiders say they’re still waiting to see how ratings are before moving forward.

Fans have been wanting to see a film version of 24 for some time now, and it seems like this is finally the time to do it!

Freddie Prinze Jr. has landed himself a job. Maybe once he found out his wife Sarah Michelle Gellar was pregnant, he figured it was time to get back to work?

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Prinze is joining the cast of 24 as a series regular next season, playing Davis Cole, a recently returned Marine who runs CTU Field Ops and wants to follow in Jack Bauer’s footsteps.

Next season will feature a lot of new characters besides Prinze’s, including Anil Kapoor, who plays a Middle East leader; Chris Diamantopoulos, as the president's new chief of staff; and John Boyd as a CTU systems analyst. All of them are regulars, while Jennifer Westfeldt has come aboard as a recurring character, playing a journalist.

We wonder if Freddie’s character is being introduced to take over as the lead! We can’t imagine 24 without Jack Bauer, but how many times can he save the world without dying?! His time has to be up soon!
24 is moving Jack Bauer to New York City. After six seasons in LA and one in D.C., the Fox show is being moved to the Big Apple. Much of the shooting will still take place in LA, but the show will actually be based in NYC. Shooting will begin next month.

Season 8 will be about CTU making a comeback under the leadership of a new character named Brian Hastings.

The character hasn’t even been cast yet. Described as an MBA type with a razor sharp intellect, Hastings will be joined by two new twentysomething agents (one male, one female), as well as Mary Lynn Rajskub's returning Chloe.

But speaking of new castings, one character we do know about is Slumdog star Anil Kapoor, who will play the part of Arman Hashemi, a Middle Eastern leader on a peacemaking mission in the U.S.

This will be an exciting move for the show! After 7 seasons, it’s important to shake things up a little bit and keep the fans interested!

24 fans will finally get to see how Jack Bauer got his start when Redemption, a prequel to the series 24, airs on Fox this November.

The movie focuses on the swearing in of the first U.S. president. But on the same day, the government learns of an imminent coup out of Sangala. Jack Bauer to the rescue?

Tune in November 23rd on Fox to fid out. But until then, check out the suspenseful trailer.

Get ready for the upcoming season of 24! Fans like us are excited to learn that Elisha Cuthbert will be rejoining the cast this season as Jack Bauer's daughter. And this time, she's got a daughter of her own!

Entertainment Weekly reports that Cuthbert has officially signed on for episodes towards the end of the season. And drama definitely follows that girl, so we're expecting it to be good.

Also different about this season is that rather than taking place in Los Angeles, the characters will be in Washington D.C. Season 7 premieres in January 2009.

This is rare. '24' actor Kiefer Sutherland claims that he's overpaid and he really doesn't deserve the millions that he earns.

He says, "The kind of money generated around the industry is way out of proportion. The admiration bestowed on actors is also out of perspective."

Seriously, who complains about getting paid too much? We'd be glad to take some of that money off your hands.
24 will be heading to the big screen. According to IMDb, the movie is set for a 2009 release. But Kiefer thinks it'll take a little more time than that. He says, "We're going to eventually one day - if fans are still interested by then. It's so hard for the writers to just even get through the season. They're very good, but it's just the equivalent of making 12 films a year and then they have to come up with a whole new idea in the break for the next year. So we all agreed to preserve the series, just to focus on that - and then, when the series is done, we would embark on the film."

Well we certainly hope this isn't the last season of 24! Jon Cassar is already signed on direct, with Howard Gordon and Robert Cochran as writers, and the only person guaranteed in the cast as of now is Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer. He could do the whole movie himself for all we care. Every other cast member pales in comparison!

In the mean time, before 24 kicks off its seventh season in January, fans can look forward to the made-for-TV two-hour 24 movie which will air this Fall. It will the two years between the end of season six and the beginning of season seven. The movie takes place on Inauguration Day. Just as Powers Boothe's Noah Daniels is handing the presidential reins to Allison Taylor (Cherry Jones), a military coup begins in a fictional African country. 24:Exile will air on November 23rd.

Our country is on the brink of possibly having our first African American president, and Fox's 24 says they may have something to do with it. Dennis Haybert, who played president Palmer on 24, says he may have helped make Barack Obama's candidacy for president possible.

Haybert says, "If anything, my portrayal of David Palmer, I think, may have helped open the eyes of the American people. And I mean the American people from across the board—from the poorest to the richest, every color and creed, every religious base—to prove the possibility there could be an African-American president, a female president, any type of president that puts the people first."

Celebs love to take credit for historical milestones! According to that logic, if Tila Tequila can make gay marriage legal, then 24 definitely paved the way for the first possible black president.
